An intuitive truth topic

Can’t Have the Same Thought Twice

It can seem like we have the same thoughts on repeat, day after day.  Some people feel like they live the movie Groundhog Day in their mind.  They are stuck in a never ending loop of the same thoughts.

Do you get caught in cycles of repetitive thinking? What if it only seems like all your thoughts are the same?

Nature doesn’t make copies of anything.  No two trees, flowers, or leaves are the exact same.  No two people are identical.  Even identical twins have differences you can tell them apart by.  Snowflakes are also uniquely different. No two are alike.

We are nature, so our minds act in the same way.  No copies.  Even though it seems like it, we never truly have the same thought twice.  Our thoughts may  have similar words and ideas, but they are expressed differently in each moment.  Look for delineation. Start to see the subtle differences that make each thought unique.

In a live play, the lines are the same, but the actors deliver them differently each night.  Intonations change.  An emphasis on a single word can change the meaning of the entire play.  We love live theatre and music because it has this fresh quality.

If we realize that each thought is unique to the moment, it can help us flow with life. We won’t be so bogged down by our thinking.  Life becomes less repetitive and more nuanced.  We might even glimpse thought’s infinite creativity possibility.

Another thought that tells us our thinking never changes.  This limiting thought keeps us tuned into sameness. Like all thoughts, this thought also shows up differently each time. Yet when we listen to this one, life takes on a drab, grey quality.

What if having the same thought twice was an impossibility?

A realization of this nature changes your relationship to thoughts. Instead of being a victim at the mercy of repetitive thoughts, you become a curious observer.  Make mental discoveries by examining your thoughts more closely.  Don’t believe any thought that attempts to convince you of sameness.

Identifying differences in thoughts helps you to take them less seriously. Cycles of angry thoughts, depressed thoughts, or anxious thoughts won’t wear you down.  You aren’t in the same old experience of life anymore.  Break free and find a greater possibility of hope.

This is a truth of how your mind works.  To see it for yourself, you have only to look.
